As a nonprofit charitable corporation, the primary mission of H.E.L.P., Inc., is to provide supplemental food to individuals, families, and unhoused persons.
The H.E.L.P., Inc. Food Pantry was originally founded in 1981 by Father John Domas who saw the need to assist low-income individuals and families residing in the San Gorgonio Pass area. From a small drop-in center in Beaumont, H.E.L.P., Inc. enlarged its services by purchasing the current building in Banning to include a food pantry warehouse, reception/intake area, and thrift store all with ample parking.
H.E.L.P., Inc. continues to be a safety net for people experiencing food insecurity by offering a shopping basket of food to individuals and families on a monthly basis. Additionally, H.E.L.P., Inc. provides food bags to the nonproft, Faith in Action, to distribute to unhoused individuals in the area. H.E.L.P., Inc. also operates a thrift store with beautiful gently used clothing and small household items. Thrift store sales help purchase additional food for our clients.
The Process: Clients arrive, present their ID and appointment card, receive an appointment for the next month, and then receive their basket of food.
Open to All:
Free food is now available to all Riverside County residents. You need only provide your zip code and city to receive food.
H.E.L.P. Inc. receives food from Feeding America, the USDA, and we also purchase additional food using the funds received from sales in the Thrift Store.
